AS Monaco defender Elderson Echiejile has challenged his Monaco team-mates to put their painful Coupe de Ligue defeat against Bordeaux behind them when they resume their League title challenge against Troyes this Saturday.
Echiejile who came on for Mario Pasalic for the last 17 minutes of the defeat admitted that the visit to Troyes battling relegation will provide a test of Monaco’s resilience as the Les Rouges attempt to end the year on a high.
“The coach has insisted on good finish the year this Saturday against the Troyes,” he said at a press conference.
“We were all unhappy after the game yesterday but we fully concentrated on Saturday. We must continue to work to ensure that the group continues to grow.
“We have to pick ourselves up and go again at the weekend because it’s another big test against a very tricky side.”
Echiejile adnits he is delighted at the run of games he’s getting in the team.
He added: “I feel good on this team, I play more and gaining confidence.”
Echiejile has played 18 games in all competitions so far this season for Monaco who are in third place in Ligue 1, 17 points off league leaders Paris Saint Germain.
