Former Super Eagles coach, Austin Eguavoen, has urged the national U-23 side Dream Team VI, to secure a convincing win against Congo in the first leg of their African U-23 Championship qualifier billed for Port Harcourt, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
In a chat with Sports Radio, 88.9, Brila FM, Eguavoen posited that taking a comfortable lead to Brazzaville will make the reverse fixture a mere formality.
"I foresee a very tough encounter against Congo because they are a team that has very good technical ability, just like the Nigerian team. And also, in Siasia, the Nigerian team has an experienced coach who has been to the Olympics before and did well,"Eguavoen told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"So my advice to Siasia and his players is that they should try and win convincingly here at home.
"If they take a very good lead to Congo, it will make the second leg a mere formality," he said.
Eguavoen who once handled the Dream Team, however expressed optimism that the team will emerge victorious.
"I am confident the team will do well and most importantly secure the needed victory."
