Nigeria's Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) All Stars U-17 side handled by former Super Eagles coach Austin Eguavoen on Tuesday defeated Torino Football Club Youth side 3-0 in their second Group A game of the Future Champions Cup tournament in Gauteng, South Africa, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The Nigerian youngsters who drew their first game of the tournament on Monday 1-1 against SAFA Tshwane showed their intention early on and duly got their first goal in the second minute through Gombe United forward Toluwalase Arokodare who finished off a swift counter attack.
The Italian U-17 side missed a couple of chances including a penalty saved by Nasarawa United's Mohammed Galadima, and also had a player sent off.
The NPFL All Stars top striker Nazifi Yahaya who assisted the first goal scored the second in similar fashion in the 16th minute.
Shooting Stars' Rafiu Kayode Ishaq almost made it 3-0 nine minutes into the second half but the left winger's freekick missed the target by few inches away.
Nazifi Yahaya then grabbed his brace soon afterwards when he scored from a rebound in the 56th minute.
The striker met a perfect cross by Salisu Musa Mustapha, hit a snap shot which the Italian keeper could not catch at the first time of asking then placed the ball beyond the keeper.
Remo Stars' attacking midfielder Kenneth Onije Chisom came on in the second half for Toluwalase Arokodare who was injured to add more creativity in the middle of the pack although he was yellow-carded towards the end of the game.
