Super Eagles and Warri Wolves defender Azubuike Egwuekwe has described returnee Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi as one of Nigeria’s best.
Egwuekwe remarked in an interview with Supersports.com, that Keshi was always giving new players the oppotunity to play for the senior national team.
“Coach Stephen Keshi is a great coach. He makes footballers believe in themselves.
“He is also one of the few coaches who gives players the opportunity to do the business for the national team irrespective of where they ply their trade.”
Egwuekwe who was part of the 2013 AFCON winning squad in South Africa, expressed sadness following the team’s inability to qualify for this year’s edition in Equatorial Guinea.
“I have never felt that bad in my life. To be honest, it still hurts,” Egwuekwe reckoned.
He described Italy and Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli as the toughest player he has ever faced.
“The toughest player I have faced has to be Mario Balotelli. Those who criticise him probably have never faced him on the pitch.”
