–Eagles defender assures Nigerians ahead Sudan clash
Nigeria defender, Azubuike Egwuekwe has assured Nigerians that Super Eagles will do everything possible to achieve a result against Sudan that will enhance their Morocco 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualification.
The Warri Wolves center-back who has been a regular face in the Super Eagles call up since the reign of Stephen Keshi as manager stated that as African champions, not qualifying to defend their crown in Morocco next year will not augur well with the team.
“We know what’s at stake, we are pushed to the wall and it’s for us now to bounce back and I’m confident that will start in the game against Sudan”, Egwuekwe said Thursday before the team departed for Sudan.
“We’ll fight with the last drop of our blood, it won’t be easy because they too want to win having lost their first game at home.
“We want Nigerians to support us with their prayers, on our part, we are determined and will work hard enough to get the result we want”.
Super Eagles are third on the group log with a point from two games while Sudan are last on the table without a point after losing all two games against South Africa (0-3) and Congo (0-2).
