Egypt head coach, Hector Cuper, has picked June 13 as date for their first match in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Tanzania.
The Pharaohs have been drawn in Group G with 2013 Afcon champions, Nigeria, Tanzania and Chad.
“The head coach picked June 13 as date for our first match against Tanzania but no venue has picked yet,” Egypt director, Alaa Abdel Azeez, said.
“We will hold three camps before this clash. The first one started on April 8 till April 11, then we will have another camp in May with a friendly match. The last camp will be on June 8 then the match.”
Egypt were about playing a friendly match this week but the team director said “we cancelled that because we didn’t find a team to play.”
“The head coach asked Egyptian Football Association to hold camping every month to know the players more and more and the EFA accepted this idea since that will help the head coach to know the players more.”
Cuper took the charge of the Egyptian national team in the last month and played a friendly game against Equatorial Guinea which the Pharaohs won 2-0.
