Ejaria Signs New Liverpool Deal, Joins Gerrard’s Rangers On Loan

Nigerian-born midfielder Ovie Ejaria has signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

After penning a new deal at  Liverpool, the 20-year-old will immediately join Scottish club, Rangers, now managed by Liverpool great Steven Gerrard, on a season-long loan, which is subject to international clearance, Liverpool announced on their official website on Thursday.

Ejiara was reportedly dropped from Nigeria’s U-17 team to the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup in UAE but won the 2017 U-20 World Cup with England.

“It’s a really great feeling. I’ve been at Liverpool for four years now and I’m just really happy to extend my stay here,” the 20-year-old told Liverpoolfc.com.

“It’s a massive club, the club’s doing really well at the moment, so it wasn’t a hard decision at all.”

Ejaria, joined the Liverpool Academy from Arsenal in 2014, and has made eight first-team appearances for the Reds, all of which came during the 2016-17 season.

He spent the second half of last term on loan at Sunderland, featuring 11 times in the Championship.

“I’m just going to keep working hard and see where that takes me,” he added.

“I really want to be a regular at Liverpool Football Club, a massive club, so that’s my aim.”
