–For effort against Prime FC
Players of Ekiti United Football Club were at the weekend rewarded for their impressive performance against Prime FC in the week 8 Nigeria National League match played at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium.
The team was rewarded with N20, 000 for two goals scored against their opponents, while the Most Valuable Player, MVP, Richard Johnson got the same sum.
The club’s secretary Olowolafe Ayodeji heaped praises on the match officials as he described the match of ‘free and fair officiating’
He also added that the team will beefed up the squad with two strikers.
Richard Johnson’s 6th minute and Adio Monsuru’s 65th minute goals were all the home side needed to earn three points at stake in the match at a capacity filled stadium.
The players yielded to the clarion call from financier of the team, Senator Tony Adeniyi, the representative of Ekiti South Senatorial District in the National Assembly who promised to reward the team with special bonus if they beat Prime FC.
Ekiti United has now amassed 12 points from eight matches played so far in the NNL Group B table.
The coach of the side, Adewumi Moses has promised to improve striking department and was happy his boys played to instruction and appreciate management support.
The MVP Johnson has dedicated his goal to club chairman, Senator Tony Adeniyi for his financial support to the club and promised to score more goals.
