Following Wednesday’s Super Eagles disappointing 2-2 draw with the Bafana Bafana of South Africa, ex-international Friday Ekpo says the state of the country’s football is indeed in comatose.
The Stephen Keshi led team squandered their brightest chance of qualifying for the 2015 AFCON in Equatorial Guinea after a 2-2 draw with South Africa in the last qualifying game in Uyo on Wednesday.
“With all sincerity, we have no team and a perfect reflection that our football has gone so deep retrogressivel,y” Ekpo began.
Ekpo did not hide his dissatisfaction at the Super Eagles as he vehemently condemned their lackadaisical attitude on the field of play.
“You can imagine how we went about an all important match as if the game meant nothing to us; because I still don’t understand it, when you know that a certain game is as important as anything and yet you still don’t show any level of seriousness that would reflect that you need the match at all cost. But it’s just unfortunate that such attitude is never found in this the Super Eagles fold these days”.
