By Johnny Edward: Former Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike missed Las Palmas’ training session on Tuesday and remains a major doubt for Thursday’s LaLiga home clash against Barcelona, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Emenike, who joined Las Palmas on loan from Olympiacos in January, is still recovering from injury alongside Pedro Bigas, Jerónimo Figueroa and Gabriel Penalba.
However Emenike’s fellow Nigerians at Las Palmas Imoh Ezekiel and Oghenekaro Etebo both trained with the rest of the squad ahead of the crucial clash.
“UD Las Palmas exercised in the morning today preparing to receive the leader of LaLiga Santander, FC Barcelona. Jemez has all available except for Pedro Bigas, Momo, Emenike and Penalba, who are still recovering,” a statement on the club’s official website explained on Tuesday.
Etebo has made four starts since he joined on loan from Feriense in Portugal while Ezekiel has made two substitute appearances since he joined the club in February.
Las Palmas occupy the 18th position in the Spanish LaLiga table with 19 points from 25 games.
