Fenerbahce striker Emmanuel Emenike has left for Italy to spend time with his close friend Joel Obi after the Turkish Super Lig was suspended due to an armed attack on the Yellow Canaries bus.
Emenike, who is still in shock over the attack in which the team bus driver was hurt after their 5-1 win over Rizespor, has also called up his Nigerian teammates in Italy for a dinner date in Milan, Complete Sports has been informed.
The trio of Ogenyi Onazi, Nnamdi Oduamadi and Joel Obi are all expected to be in attendance.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Football Federation President Amaju Pinnick has called up the striker to reassure him of the country’s support in this trying time in his career.
“He was happy I called to extend the sympathy of the NFF and Nigeria football family to him, and to assure him that we are with him at this period and also monitoring the situation with keen interest,” Pinnick disclosed.
