Super Eagles duo of Emmanuel Emenike and Raheem Lawal will be putting the frustrations of Nigeria’s ouster from the 2015 AFCON aside when both players file out against each other in a Turkish Super Lig game.
To this end, Emenike’s Fenerbahce will today at the 53,586-capacity Sukru Saracoglu Stadium play the host to Lawal’s Erskisehispor and both sides will be aiming for the jugular in what promises to be an explosive game.
9 points currently separates the two sides with hosts Fenerbahce currently 2nd on the league table with 20 points while Eskiserhirspor are way down in the 13th position with 11 points.
Fenerbahce look in good stead to pick the maximum points in this tie but their home advantage might count for little if the host choose to underrate their visitors.
Interestingly, Emenike has been struggling to find his goalscoring form this season with the burly Nigerian striker currently with 2 goals to his credit in 9 games while Lawal, a midfielder has also scored 2 goals for his side in 10 matches.
It will be recalled that Emenike and Lawal both featured prominently in the Super Eagles side that drew 2-2 against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa that ensured Nigeria missed out of the 2015 AFCON slated for Equatorial Guinea.
