Emenike Wins Turkish Cup

Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike played all 90 minutes for Fenerbache as they defeated rivals Galatasaray 3-2 on penalties in Monday night’s Turkish Cup clash after scores ended goalless after regulation time at the 19 Mayis Stadium.

The 27-year-old forward who is expected to lead the Super Eagles attack in next month’s African Nations Cup qualifier against Congo and South Africa was booked in the 58th minute of the ill-tempered game which saw ten yellow cards issued.

Emenike was part of the Yellow Canaries team that lifted the Cup last season where they defeated Trabzonspor by a lone goal.

Fenerbahçe finished nine points ahead of Galatasaray to lift the Turkish league last season.
