Former Super Eagles forward, Emmanuel Emenike, scored the only goal as Fenerbahce playing at home pipped Feyenoord 1-0 in Group A in the UEFA Europa match day 2 fixture on Thursday night.
It was Fenerbahce’s first win in the group after drawing 1-1 away to Zorya on match day 1.
Emenike scored in the 18th minute to secure the win for Fenerbahce.
Also in Group A, Manchester United bounced back from their opening day defeat by edging a stubborn Zorya side 1-0.
The only goal of the game was scored by Zlatan Ibrahimovic on 69 minutes.
In Group B, Super Eagles forward Brown Ideye was in action for Olympiacos who were shocked 1-0 at home by Apoel Nicosia.
Nigeria midfielder Nosa Igiebor featured for Maccabi Tel Aviv who lost 1-0 to Dundalk in Group D.
Igiebor was replaced by Dor Micha in the 59th minute.
Also in Group D Nigerian forward Fred Friday and his Dutch side AZ Alkmaar were thrashed 5-0 by Zenit St. Petersburg.
Friday was on for 90 minutes in the game.
Former Nigeria junior international, Olanrewaju Kayode, was subbed off on 85 minutes as Austria Wien were held 0-0 at home by Viktoria Plzen in a Group E clash.
Kayode went off for Kevin Friesenbichler.
And in group F, Wilfred Ndidi made a 90 minute appearance for Genk in their 3-1 home win against Sassuolo.
In other results on the night, FC Astana played 0-0 against Young Boys, Mainz without Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun beat Qabala 3-2 away from home, Saint-Etienne and Anderlecht played 1-1, Roma walloped Astra Giurgiu 4-0 while Athletico Bilbao edged Rapid Wien 1-0.
