–Lille goalie restates commitment to Eagles
Super Eagles goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, has dispelled rumors that he opted out of the team’s 2015 AFCON qualifiers against Congo and South Africa.
Enyeama was listed for the games but was ruled out due to family commitment which head coach Stephen Keshi granted him permission to sort out first.
Austin Ejide was handed the captain’s armband in the game as he stood between the sticks.
Congo ran out 3-2 winners in the game decided at the U.J. Esuene Stadium but the Eagles played a goaless draw with the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in Cape Town in the next game.
Enyeama has thus dismissed suggestions his loyalty in recent time is questionable as he claims his commitment to the nation has ‘never ever’ been in doubt.
“I had pressing impromptu issues in the family to settle so I had to inform the coach who really saw reasons with me”, Enyeama told www.footballlive.com.
“These are issues I can’t just overlook hence it was important I sorted them out.I have never said no to Nigeria and would not do so soon,” the former Enyimba of Aba goalkeeper said.
