Super Eagles skipper Vincent Enyeama will play no part in Saturday’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania in Dar-es-Salaam, completesportsnigeria.com can report.
Enyeama is the only player of the 24 invited for the key qualifier yet to arrive in camp.
The Lille Metropole shot-stopper has pressing family issues to attend to, completesportsnigeria.com gathered from a top official.
“Enyeama has family issues to deal with at the moment and he has been ruled out of the game,” the top source said, while refusing to reveal the nature of the ‘family issue’.
There is no official confirmation from the Nigeria Football Federation yet, but completesportsnigeria.com’s source is sure Enyeama will not play on Saturday.
In Enyeama’s absence CSKA Moscow winger Ahmed Musa is likely to captain the Eagles against the Taifa Stars this weekend just as he did in Enyeama’s absence when the three-time AFCON winners played out a 1-1 draw against South Africa in May.
Enyeama has kept three clean sheets in four Ligue 1 games for Lille this season.
Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Carl Ikeme, who has received his first call-up, could replace Enyeama in goal in Tanzania.
