–Ready for pre-season clash with Zenith
Super Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama is expected to be in goal tomorrow for his Ligue 1 outfit Lille Metropole as they take on Russian giant Zenith St. Petersburg in a pre-season game.
Enyeama who was Lille’s first choice goalkeeper last season, is expected to continue from where he left off following his splendid performance in between the sticks which earned him an award for the best France-based African Player.
It would be recalled that Enyeama was in goal for the Super Eagles at the just concluded FIFA World Cup held in Brazil where he distinguished himself as one of the best goalkeepers of the tournament.
Amongst some of his best saves was his stopping Bosnia’s Edin Dzeko’s last minute effort which saw the Eagles hang on to a 1-0 win, thanks to a first half strike by Osaze Odemwingie.
And despite keeping out strikes from the likes of Karim Benzema, Paul Pogba and Antoine Griesmann, the Eagles still lost 2-0 to France in the round of 16, a result which saw them crash of the World Cup.
