Enyeama: It’s Win Or Burst In Sudan

Super Eagles captain Vincent Enyeama has said the team will go for nothing but an outright victory in Khartoum in Saturday’s crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan.

The Lille of France goalkeeper who spoke to Complete Sports after the team’s first training session Tuesday in Abuja also said that the players are aware of the importance of the game hence they have resolved to give above 100% to ensure victory.

“This is a very important game for us and we’re ready to shed our blood on the pitch if that’s the only way to get the desired results we want,” Enyeama said.

“We cannot afford not to get the three points, it’s a must-win game for us and we’ll go for it.”

Enyeama who missed the two games against Congo and South Africa due to family issues said the Eagles players are aware of the antics of the Sudanese in an effort to frustrate the Super Eagles.

“We know the Sudanese are full of antics but that will not stop us from going for victory in the game. We must give 150% in the game to ensure that victory comes our way.

“We need the points to ensure that we put our 2015 AFCON qualification on track and we cannot afford to fail.”

The Super Eagles are third in their group with a point from two games following a 3-2 defeat by Congo in Calabar and a scoreless draw with South Africa in Cape Town.

Congo lead the group with six points while South Africa are second with four points which makes it mandatory for the Eagles to win their remaining games to nurse any hope of defending their African crown in Morocco next year.
