Enyimba Step Up Preparation For Barcelona Clash

–Ahead Copa Lagos Championship

Fresh from their 2014 Federation Cup title win following a 2-1 triumph over Dolphins of Port Harcourt, Enyimba International of Aba have vowed to annex this year’s Copa Lagos trophy in their first attempt to further add to their trophy shelf.

The two time African champions who pride themselves as the most successful club in Nigeria in recent time will come face-to-face with FC Barcelona of Spain in the Copa Lagos opening game and the People’s Elephant have subsequently stepped up their preparation for the showdown with Barcelona.

After finishing second in the Glo Premier League behind eventual winners, Kano Pillars, Enyimba Chairman, Chief Felix Anyansi Agwu said they are in a good mood to confront Barcelona.

“It’s a good thing for us to play in the Copa Lagos tournament for the first time. We’re also delighted to face FC Barcelona at a time like this when the team is still savoring the winning mentality after the Federation Cup win,” Anyansi, an executive committee member of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF said.

Enyimba will be propelled in attack by Glo Premier League top scorer, Mfom Udoh, who scored a record 23 goals in the concluded season as well as Chimezie Amanfor as the “People’s Elephant” get set to compete against other Nigerian clubs, including Stationary Stores in the Copa Lagos Club Challenge.

This year’s edition of the Copa Lagos tournament is being sponsored by 1960BET,long-standing sponsors First City Monument Bank (FCMB), Eko Atlantic, Cool FM, Pepsi as well as venue sponsors Eko Energy Estate under Orlean Invest, organizers disclosed.
