EPL: Moses Misses 6th Straight Game As Everton Hold Chelsea At Stamford Bridge

By Johnny Edward:
Victor Moses was absent as Chelsea were held to a goalless draw by Everton in an English Premier League game played on Sunday at the Stamford Bridge , reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

It was the sixth straight game the former Nigeria winger missed since he last featured for Chelsea in their 1-1 home draw with Liverpool in the EPL.

The game produced few chances in the first half, but opened up delightfully in the second half, with Marcos Alonso, Eden Hazard, and Willian all coming close to scoring for Chelsea.

Gylfi Sigurdsson also forced a good save from Kepa Arrizabalaga in the 76th minute.

Chelsea were soon back on the front foot and Willian should have done better when being played through on goal, only to drag a low strike marginally wide of the far post.

Hazard also had a long-range effort tipped behind by Pickford while Alonso – a constant threat down the left flank – saw a volley clip the outside of the far post before going wide of the target.

Everton remained a threat playing on the counter-attack but it was all Chelsea who looked like a team to score.

Hazard also missed another opportunity with 17 minutes left when he poked his shot wide from 16 yards after being sent clear of the Toffees backline.

The chances dried up during the closing stages of the game as Everton moved to five at the back to deny the Blues a ninth league win of the season.

Despite the draw Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri broke the record for the longest unbeaten run at the start of a Premier League managerial career.

Chelsea visit Tottenham in a London derby immediately after the international break on November 24th, while Everton are also in action next after the international break, when they play host to Cardiff City.
