Nigerian youngster Kelechi Nwakali was on target for MVV Maastricht who were held to a 1-1 home draw by Cambuur in the first leg of their Dutch Eredivisie (topflight) qualification play-off tie on Thursday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Nwakali gave Maastricht the lead when he got on the score sheet in the eighth minute.
But in the 17th minute Cambuur equalised through Sander Van De Streek.
FIFA U-17 World Cup winner Nwakali, who is on loan from Arsenal, played 90 minutes for Maastricht.
He has now scored three goals in 29 league appearances for Maastricht this season.
The return leg comes up on Saturday with Cambuur hosting Maastricht.
In another Dutch Eredivisie qualification play-off, 10-man Roda JC parading Nigerian midfielder Abduljeleel Ajagun defeated Helmond 1-0 away from home.
Ajagun featured throughout the encounter for Roda JC who will entertain Helmond in the reverse fixture on Saturday.
Roda's goal was scored by Dani Schahin in the 52nd minute.
Five minutes after scoring, Roda were reduced to 10 men as Adil Anassar was shown a straight red card.
Another Nigerian player who is involved in the play-off is Liverpool on-loan striker Taiwo Awoniyi whose club NEC Nijmegen will be guests to FC Emmen also on Thursday.
