Nigerian midfielder Anderson Esiti is confident Gent can land the Belgian league title this season if they maintain their form in the playoffs which kick off this Sunday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
With Gent riding on an 11-game unbeaten streak in the Belgian Pro Division, they will begin their play-off campaign with a home clash against Club Brugge whom they last defeated 2-0 in January at the Ghelamco Arena.
"There are several teams capable of winning the title and there could be another surprise this season just like we won it in 2014/15 season,” Esiti told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"Considering our run of form, it’s important that we don’t become complacent, and that we do our job and stay professional.
“I don’t think a lot of people expected us to get into the playoffs.
“We are just going to keep taking each game as it comes, not worry about the title too much and carry on with what we’ve been doing, and hopefully we will win it at the end of the season."
