Gent FC of Belgium midfielder Anderson Esiti has said that the Algerian trio of Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani and Porto's Yacine Brahimi will be caged in Uyo on November 9 when they clash with the Super Eagles in a World Cup qualifier, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Esiti who was a second-half substitute in Nigeria's 2-1 win over Zambia in Ndola, said that beating Algeria will become easy if the trio are not allowed to play their game, adding that he had played against the two of them in Portugal and he that he knows how to stop them.
"Having played against them in the Portuguese league, I believe the Eagles have what it takes to stop them. In previous duels against them, I don't see them as a threat to our ambition to qualify for the World Cup in Russia. Algeria cannot survive our onslaught in Uyo, we will roast them," Esiti told Complete Sports.
"Our coach has directed all of us to go and ensure that we play regularly for our different clubs in order to get invited for the game against Algeria next month and that is what everybody will try to do before the Super Eagles' next game. I can assure you that we are all determined to beat Algeria and ease our qualification for the World Cup."
Asked what coach Gernot Rohr told him to do when he introduced him late in the game against Zambia, Esiti stated that Rohr only directed him to try and give cover the Eagles back four as they appeared tired, stressing that he felt fulfilled getting his second cap.
"I am happy I played the role I was assigned and we won, I hope to fight for starting role in our next match," Esiti added.
