Etebo Delighted To Be Fit Again, Back In Action

By Johnny Edward:
Stoke City midfielder, Peter Oghenekaro Etebo, is delighted to be back in action fully fit for club and country, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

Etebo played for 76 minutes as Stoke City forced Nottingham Forest to an enthralling away goalless draw in their English Championship match at the City Ground on Saturday.

He was replaced by Sam Clucas who was making his debut for the club after a knee surgery kept him out of action for six months.

“Good point away from home. Glad to be back fit getting some minutes,” Etebo tweeted.

Prior to Stoke’s clash against Middlesbrough on November 3, Etebo had missed their previous three games due to injury.

The game was Etebo’s 12th in the English Championship for the Potters since he arrived from CD Feirense of Portugal.

Stoke City are now unbeaten in six away games and they occupy the 14th position with 22 points from 17 English Championship games.

Etebo is one of the three midfielders called up by Gernot Rohr for Nigeria’s 2019 Africa Cup Of Nations qualifier against South Africa in Johannesburg this Saturday, and he is expected in camp on Tuesday.

Rohr should look deeply if Etebo should really start for Nigeria this weekend against the South Africans.

    • I think it’s a choice between himself or John Ogu to partner Mikel Agu in midfield. But my choice would be Ogu who is more defensive minded.

Mikel can link defence to attack and is more mobile, whilst John can sit deep, or they take turns in looking up with attack.
Etebo, is the weaker defensively of the three. We have Jamilu, Aina also who can link up the attack
