Nigeria striker, Adeleke Akinyemi, failed to rescue his Latvian club, Ventspils who went down to a 1-0 home defeat against French side, Girondis Bordeaux in the first leg of their Europa League, second qualifying round clash on Thursday, reports Completesportsnigeria. com.
Akinyemi, 19, who scored six goals in the previous round against Albanian club, Luftetari Gjirokarter was on from start to finish in the game.
His compatriot, Abdullahi Alfa and Tosin Aiyegun were also involved for the entire 90 minutes.
