Elderson Echiejile will make his Europa League home debut for Standard Liege in tonight's Europa League clash at home to Spanish side Celta Vigo at the Maurice Dufrasne Stadium, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The 28 year old Nigeria defender who joined Standard Liege on a season loan deal with an option of an outright buy from AS Monaco is however hoping for a bright start in front of his home fans in what will be his 16th appearance in the competition having featured for Stade Rennes, SC Braga and Monaco in the past.
In a chat with Completesportsnigeria.com, the former SC Braga defender believes the hosts stand a good chance of winning if they replicate their brilliant performance against Genk in the league last Sunday.
The Rouches picked their second win of the season, defeating Wilfred Ndidi's side after failing to win in their last three games.
"We stand a good chance of winning and I believe that's the target in tonight's game," Echiejile tells Completesportsnigeria.com.
Standard Liege are currently ninth on the log after six games with nine points.
They are drawn into Group G where they will face Ajax, Celta de Vigo and Panathinaikos.
