Little known Nigerian forward, Adeleke Akinyemi, will be one of the major attractions when his Latvian club, FK Ventspils take on French Ligue 1 outfit, Girondis Bordeaux in the UEFA Europa League, second qualifying round, first leg clash on Thursday at the Olympiska Centra Stadion, Ventspils , reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Akinyemi, 19, hit the headlines in the previous round after scoring six goals over two legs against Albanian side, Luftetari Gjirokaster.
The young striker hit the back of the net four times in the first leg which Ventspils won 5-0 and netted twice in the reverse fixture which ended in a 3-3 draw.
He has scored 11 goals in 15 league games for Ventspils this season.
Bordeaux are the overwhelming favourites to win the tie and make it to the next round, but another impressive showing against the French club will further put Akinyemi in the top flight.
Former Golden Eaglets midfielder, Yakubu Alfa and Tosin Aiyegun are the other Nigeri at the club.
