Europa: Onuachu Bags Brace, Umar Subbed On As Midtylland, Rangers Win

Nigerian forward, Paul Onuachu scored a brace as Danish side, FC Midtylland secured a 2-0 away win against Welsh club, The New Saints in the first leg of their Europa League, third qualifying round fixture on Thursday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

Onuachu scored in the 9th and 27th minute respectively to hand his side the advantage going into the second leg.

He was replaced 11 minutes from time by Mayron Genje. The other Nigerian at the club, Ogochukwu Frank was an unused substitute in the game.

At the Ibrox Stadium, Glasgow, former U-23 Eagles striker, Sadiq Umar played for two minutes in Scottish outfit, Rangers’ 3-1 home win against Maribor of Slovenia.

Super Eagles defender, Ambrose Efe was on from start to finish as his Scottish club, Hibernian were held to a 0-0 draw by Norwegian side, Molde at the Easter Road Stadium, Edinburgh.

Molde paraded Nigerian forward, Daniel Chima from the start in the game, while Leke James was introduced for Magnus Elkren in the second half.

Former U-23 Eagles midfielder, Mohammed Usman, was left on the for the entire 90 minutes in Norway club, Sarpsborg 1-1 home draw against Croatia’s Rijeka.

    I think coach Rohr need to have a look at Paul Onuachu, I started following him the season his club FC Midjilland faced Manutd in the Europa league. His stats are amazing and is a player that surely will guarantee double figure goals not minding the league where he ply his trade. He recently took his tally to 10 goals in 27 European matches.
    His height of over 2 metres is also an advantage and realistically he is the tallest Nigerian footballer.
