Taye Taiwo’s new club, HJK Helsinki, were knocked out of the Europa League play-off by visiting Krasnodar after playing a 0-0 draw on Thursday night.
HJK, who did not feature Taiwoin the match, lost the first leg 5-1.
In Greece, Panathinaikos, with Abduljeleel Ajagun on the bench for 90 minutes, were eliminated by FK Qabala who forced them to a 2-2 draw. The first leg ended goalless.
Dodo shot Qabala in front in the sixth minute but Marcus Berg levelled the score in the 34th minute. Dodo was on target again on 60 minutes before Nano struck for Panathinaikos with 12 minutes remaining.
While in Denmark, it was victory for the duo of Rilwan Hassan and Paul Onuachu, as their team Midtjylland progressed into the group stage after pipping Southampton 1-0 to end the tie 2-1 on aggrgate.
The only goal of the match came off Morten Rasmussen in the 28th minute.
Hassan came on for Pione Sisto in the 68th minute but Onuachu was an unused substitute.
