Former Liverpool and England defender Jamie Carragher has been caught on video as he spat in the face of a 14-year-old girl and her mum on Saturday after Liverpool lost 2-1 to bitter rivals Manchester United in the Premier League.
The Mirror got exclusive video of Carragher aiming a mouthful of saliva at the passenger window of a car containing the teenage Manchester United fan and her dad after Saturday’s Red Devils victory over the Anfield outfit.
She claimed the spittle hit her on the forehead and made her cry.
The dad said “a bit of banter” with the 40-year-old Sky Sports pundit turned ugly after he mentioned the 2-1 scoreline. And he insisted the TV star must have seen his daughter in the passenger seat.
Carragher later apologised to the family and tweeted afterwards: “Totally out of order & Ive apologised personally to all the family this evening. I was goaded 3/4 times along the motorway while being filmed & lost my rag. No excuse apologies.”
