Anderlecht of Belgium forward, Imoh Ezekiel, is optimistic Nigeria's Olympic team will match the feat of the 1996 Olympic squad at the 2016 Rio Olympics football event in Brazil despite their poor performance at the Suwon Invitational Tournament in South Korea last month.
The Nigeria are in Group B, along with Colombia, Sweden and Japan for men's football events of Rio Olympics.
Ezekiel who was one of the standout players in the Olympic team's 1-1 draw against Brazil in a friendly in May, also harped on luck, hard work and understanding between the overseas-based players and the home-based as they intensify preparations for the Games.
“The Dream IV will excel in Rio Olympics, I'm very sure," Ezekiel began in an interview with Completesportsnigeria.com.
"I was part of the team that played against Brazil and won in an international friendly in Rio two months ago. The team have a lots of good players, so I have no doubt about the players' potentials.
"The only thing the team need is luck, hard work and understanding between the overseas pros and the home-based, but am sure we shall go far in the championship,” Ezekiel added.
The former Standard Liege striker is one of the players reportedly listed in the provisional Nigeria squad for the Olympics.
