Super Eagles goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa has admitted that the competitive nature of the Corsica XI on Friday in their friendly ahead of the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier surprised the Nigerians, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
"The match yesterday was not easy as most people thought it will be," FC IfeanyiUbah goalkeeper Ezenwa told Completesportsnigeria.com from Paris on Saturday.
"They were possibly motivated by the pre-match rating they had. They were stronger than we thought I must say.
"We're in Paris now and looking forward to the next game against Togo which will be tougher.
"As fellow Africans, I expect a more intense game but we're ready."
The friendly against Corsica ended in a 1-1 draw with Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho scoring from the penalty spot in the 80th minute to equalise for the Super Eagles.
