FA Cup: Success Crashes Out With Watford, Aina Advances With Hull

By Johnny Edward: Nigerian forward Isaac Success was an unused substitute for Watford who crashed out of the Emirates FA Cup competition after losing 1-0 to Southampton on Saturday at the Saint Mary’s Stadium, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Jack Stephens scored the only goal of the game in the fourth minute to hand new Watford manager Javi Garcia a defeat.

Success has made only one appearance so far this season in the Carabao Cup and has been named as a substitute five times in the English Premier League for Watford.

At the KCOM Stadium, Super Eagles defender Ola Aina played all 90 minutes for Hull City who booked a fifth round berth by defeating Nottingham Forest, who had beaten holders Arsenal in the third round, 2-1. Jarrod Bowen and Nouha Dicko were on target for Hull while Apostolos Vellios scored a late consolation for Forest.

At the DW Stadium, a brace from Will Grigg secured a fifth round place for League One side Wigan Athletic who defeated 10-man West Ham United 2-0. Arthur Masuaku was sent off in the 49th minute of the encounter.

Maxime Biamou was the match winner for Coventry City who edged Milton Keynes Dons 1-0. At the Amex Stadium, Birmingham City forced a replay with Huddersfield Town after full time scores ended 1-1.

Steve Mounie got the opener for Huddersfield in the 21st minute before Lukas Jutkiewicz struck late in the encounter.

Sheffield United defeated Preston North End 1-0. Billy Sharp converted an 80th minute penalty to seal the tie.

Brighton Hove Albion also defeated Middlesbrough 1-0. Glenn Murray scored in the 90th minute of the encounter.

Notts County forced Swansea to a replay at the Liberty Stadium after playing a 1-1 draw on Saturday. Jon Stead was the hero with the second-half equaliser for County after Luciano Narsingh had given Swansea the lead.

Rochdale also forced Millwall to a replay after scores ended 2-2 at The Den stadium.

Jed Wallace scored a 17th minute penalty to give Millwall the lead while Ian Henderson restored parity for Rochdale in the 32nd minute. Matt Done made it 2-1 in favour of Rochdale in the 53rd minute but Ben Thompson’s late goal salvaged a replay for Millwall.
