Falcons Star To Miss Two Week Training

–National women’s camp opens Sunday

New Super Falcons striker, Ini Umotong has said she will miss the first two weeks of the team’s scheduled training camp, ahead of the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup slated for Canada.

The prolific striker scored twice as the Blues beat Poole Town 7-0 in the semi-final of the Hampshire FA Challenge Cup.

Umotong’s two goals against Poole took her amazing tally to 20 in 12 matches for the Blues.
And while Umotong is ecstatic about the Super Falcons’ invitation, the challenges of school work means the first two weeks of camping will be swallowed by academics.

“It’s always been my dream to play international football. I was so excited when I got the call. So happy, Umotong told Portsmouth website.

“It will be a great experience. I have got an official invite for the one-month camp.

“It looks like I will go for two weeks of it. It will be the second two weeks because I’m studying at university.

“The camp starts on Sunday and runs until March 22, added the 19 year old student of Southampton University

The 36 players selected for the camp will be aiming to make an impression for the 11th All-Africa Games qualifiers, the 2016 Olympic Games qualifiers and the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup finals.
