Portland Timbers forward Fanendo Adi has revealed that he is looking forward to making his debut for the Super Eagles when they take on Egypt in Friday's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, Completesportsniger
Adi revealed that he owes his Nigeria invitation to his Portland Timbers coach and teammates.
"I’m looking forward to playing for Nigeria,” Adi who won the man-of the match award after Portland's 2-2 draw against Real Salt Lake and was named in the MLS team of the week, told reporters shortly after joining the Eagles in Abuja.
“It’s my first time. I’ve never been with the national team, so it’s different for me.
"I owe everything to Portland, so I have to say a big ‘thank you’ to the coach, to the fans and my mates. Without them I wouldn’t have this opportunity. It’s going to be great for my development and it’s going to help me."
The Egyptians lead Group G by two points and the results of these two games will have a huge bearing on who qualifies for the finals automatically.
