Exclusive by David Meshioye:
Former Akwa United striker Christian Pyagbara is set to join Norway top side FK Vikings this weekend, Completesportsnigeria.
The deal is brokered by top Nigerian agents Emmanuel Attah and Udia Attai who recently sealed another deal for Innocent Bonke with Malmo Football club, Sweden.
Pyagbara agent had combed Europe to secure a juicy deal for the former Sharks FC of Port Harcourt striker, but Viking are now leading the race to sign the 21-years old Nigerian.
Pyagbara was part of Nigeria’s bronze winning team at the 2014 African Nations Championship in South Africa.
It can be be recalled that onetime fringe Super Eagles striker, Peter Ijeh, played for Vikings before his retirement.
The former CHAN Super Eagles dangerman has been training with Vikings since July and has won the heart of Coach Ian Burchnall who is desperate to raise a crack side.
“Pyagbara is on the verge of sealing Viking contract after a successful trial at the club," Attah told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“All things being equal, he will officially become Vikings new signings this weekend.”
Vikings' top scout Bård Wiggen insisted Pyagbara showed up in person due to non availability of his match footage.
“We are extremely in high activity at the moment, and we hear from several agents we trust, in addition to the scrutiny we do ourselves."
As a rule, we do not pick up players we have not even watched on video or in person.
