Fed. Cup: Dolphins Dim Lobi 4-2

By Sab Osuji:

Dolphins of Port Harcourt relied on their Federation Cup experience as they cut down the ambition of Lobi Stars 4-2 in a six-goal thriller Wednesday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.

Dolphins, four time winners of the competition, raced into an early lead with Emem Eduok scoring the first goal 23 minutes after the start.

Lobi stars came back to level terms through Shaibu Adamu but Ebube Okpokwu restored Dolphins lead while Bolaji Sarkin gave the Garden City side a two goal caution late on.

Former Wikki Tourists forward, Victor Alegbe increased Dolphins lead to 4-1 before Seriki Audu reduced the tally to 4-2 for Lobi Stars.

The result would be a massive blow for the Makurdi side who were heavily backed by a large contingent of supporters from nearby Benue State.
