Super Eagles striker Emem Eduok says he wants to cap a ‘memorable year’ with the Federations cup win, as his Dolphins side face Enyimba in this year’s Federations cup final in Lagos.
Eduok has had quite a remarkable year, first by finishing as the second top scorer in the league and also playing and scoring for the Super Eagles in this calendar year as well.
And he has now told sl10.ng that it would mean the world to him if he can go on to win the 2014 federations cup at the expense of former champions, Enyimba.
“It will mean a lot to me if we win the federations cup because it has been a memorable year for me. I scored 20 goals for my club this season and then I played and scored for the Super Eagles and winning the Federations Cup will even make the feeling better,” he said to sl10.ng.
But despite his ambition of winning Nigeria’s oldest football competition, Eduok recognizes the threat Enyimba poses to that ambition, and admits it will be a tough duel.
“Enyimba are going to be very difficult and we know that. They are always very difficult to play against and knowing this is a cup final, it will be even more difficult. Be I believe we are up to the task and we will do it,” he stressed.
