The 2014 Federation Cup final has been slated to hold at the Teslim Balogun Stadium Lagos on November 23, Completesportsnigeria.com has been informed.
Organisers of the annual event, Nigeria Football Federation, NFF confirmed this in a statement released by its assistant director, media and publicity, Ademola Olajire on Friday.
The final earlier slated for September 25 has suffered several postponements over reasons connected with the recent events that engulfed the NFF after the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.
Holders, Enyimba, will slug it out with Dolphins in the final as the cup holders seek to make it a fourth finals win.
Olajire said the decision to hold the final on November 23 was taken Wednesday night, at the NFF Executive Committee meeting in Abuja.
He added that the date was picked after it was found out good enough for the winner, as well as the league top three winners could meet the CAF registration dateline for next year’s inter club competitions.
The NFF image maker also disclosed that the Women’s category of the Federation Cup final will also hold same day at same venue with Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt tackling Sunshine Queens of Akure.
Already, the Lagos State Government, through the Honourable Commissioner for Sports, Hon. Wahid Enitan Oshodi has pledged to ensure even greater glamour for the grand finale, which the Centre of Excellence has consistently and creditably hosted for a number of years.
