Feirense CD of Portugal have confirmed the selection of goalkeeper Dele Alampasu and midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo for Nigeria’s 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon in September, Completesportsnigeria.can report.
The top flight Portuguese side revealed the invitation of both players for Nigeria’s qualifiers against Cameroun in Uyo and Yaounde respectively, by posting pictures of the invited players on their website.
In a release on the club’s website, Feirense stated that they will be missing the services of Alampasu and Etebo from August 28th to September 7th. The duo are expected to rejoin Feirense CD training on September 8th
The release said: “Peter Etebo and Dele Alampasu have been called by Nigeria for 2018 World Cup qualifiers on 1st and 5th of September. So they will be absent from Feirense’s activities between August 28 And 7 September.”
The Super Eagles, who lead African qualifying Group B, host Cameroon in Uyo on 1 September and travel to Yaounde three days later for key World Cup qualifiers.
Nigeria have six points from their first two group games while Cameroon have only two.
Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr is expected to name his squad for the matches this week.
