The Super Eagles of Nigeria continued their steady rise in the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking as they now occupy the 60th position in the latest rankings, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
According to the rankings released on Thursday on FIFA's official website, the Eagles moved up from 64th to 60th.
In Africa, the three-time Africa Cup of Nations winners are 11th.
The Eagles' recent improvement in the ranking is not unconnected to their last two victories against Tanzania in the 2017 AFCON qualifiers and Zambia in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Duper Ragles next opponent in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, Algeria, maintained their 35th position and are third in Africa while Cameroon and Zambia are 59th and 94th respectively.
Reigning AFCON champions, Cote d'Ivoire are Africa's highest ranked team as they moved up three places to 31st and number one on the continent and are closely followed by Senegal who are 32nd and second in Africa.
Meanwhile, Argentina maintained their number one position while world champions, Germany, moved up one to second.
In third spot is Brazil who moved one step up, Belgium are fourth and Colombia fifth.
