Fortuna Sittard defender, Perr Schuurs, has backed Sunday Oliseh to lead Fortuna Sittard back to winning ways after the Limburg side suffered three straight defeats in the Dutch Jupiler League.
The Ajax bound defender is also confident Oliseh will remain at the club beyond the summer with his future at the club already in doubts following the team’s recent poor form.
Fortuna Sittard suffered a 2-0 defeat to FC Volendam last Friday after defeats to Dordrecht and FC Emmen. It’s the first time the Nigerian manager is going through a bad patch since he took charge 13 months ago.
“He (Oliseh) is a great coach and I believe he will stay at the club,” Schuurs told Fox Sports Netherlands.
“I believe he will turn the corner most especially after suffering a third straight defeat which hurts all.”
Fortuna Sittard are in third place four points adrift leaders Jong Ajax and two behind NEC with 44 points from 23 games.
The Limburg side will face AZ II in their next game on Monday.
