Fortuna Sittard Take Oliseh Case To Dutch FA, Demand Proof Of “Illegal Activities”

By Johnny Edward: Dutch second division club Fortuna Sittard have vowed to institute legal proceedings against their suspended coach Sunday Oliseh who accused the club of illegal activities, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Fortuna Sittard revealed through their official website that they will present the

ir

case to the arbitration committee of the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) in a bid to clear the club of any wrongdoing

and hope Oliseh comes up with proof of the alleged illegal activities

.

Oliseh was suspended by the club

on Wednesday after his

relationship with both players and officials

 deteriorated.

“Fortuna Sittard have taken note of the unsubstantiated allegations made yesterday in various media by Sunday Oliseh after been suspended by the club on Wednesday,” the statement on Fortuna Sittard
 reads.
Oliseh had reacted through his official Twitter handle minutes after his suspension on Wednesday, stating that his refusal to take part in “illegal activities”at the club earned him a suspension.
The former Super Eagles captain and head coach however did not explain what these illegal activities were.
“Fortuna Sittard does not wish to react with accusations in the press, Fortuna wants to fight the accusations made. In this context, the club will also take the necessary legal follow-up steps.

“Fortuna does not recognize itself at all in these accusations, which were not previously raised by Sunday Oliseh internally, something that can be expected in view of the seriousness of the accusations regarding alleged illegal practices. Fortuna Sittard chooses to respond once by means of this statement, because many media have turned to the club immediately after the accusations were made.

“The case will be presented by Fortuna Sittard to the arbitration committee of the KNVB (of the Royal Dutch Football Association )-  an independent body –  which will now make an assessment of whether there is sufficient ground to terminate the employment contract of Sunday Oliseh.

“Fortuna Sittard is of the opinion that this is the case and will substantiate this in a way towards the committee. If Sunday Oliseh actually believes that there are illegal practices, then it can be expected that this can be substantiated with evidence in the coming proceedings at the KNVB arbitration committee.”

  • It’s better for Olishe to accept his sack in good faith than to land himself in unwanted legal tussle, which could rubbish his coaching career, if at the end of the day he could not substantiate his claim as regards illegal dealing of the club that cumulated his sack. All I know is that Sunday Olishe lacked discipline when handled Super Eagles

A few people were defending him on this platform yesterday when the news was broken. They claimed that he refused to get involved in match-fixing and therefore denied the club some revenue, which resulted in his having problems with them. They also claimed that because Oliseh is an African, the white people would not be happy if he progressed. I laughed at them. Why would they employ a person if they did not want him to do well? Granted that he did not agree to fix matches, now is the time to defend himself with that “fact”.

Even though he might not be able to win de case as he can’t prove beyond reasonable doubts wit facts dat he didn’t want illegal dealings such as match fixing, we all knw dat sth like dat must ve happened as Turkish people are such kind of people.

The biggest undoing of Oliseh’s sourjorn as a coach is his lack of control, should I say self control.
I thought this would be the last of it of the famous super eagles ”bad boy” not knowing age couldn’t wash away those traits.
    Way to go.
He better be prepaid to substantiate those claims otherwise he has just landed himself in hot water.
As for those Nigerians who are in the habit of ”na our person ” they should know the era of blind favouritism and unbridled nationalism is over and done away with.
He must face the music with the same verve he started the rythm.

I pity Oliseh in this case. He can hardly prove this case beyond reasonable doubt even though I believe there is element of truth in his allegation. Or how do you explain a high flying team all of a sudden losing 4 consecutive matches. I really smell a rat i the whole scenario

Olisa lacks manner, that’s how he made us to lose Enyema just because he came a day late to camp due to her mother’ burial. He was among the players that polluted 1994 set of super eagles, I don’t pity him at all, let him go and face the music, it’s payback time.
