Leicester could face competition for Portimonense’s Shoya Nakajima when the January transfer window opens in the form of Southampton.
The Foxes are understood to have kept a close eye on the Japan international’s performances since he made the permanent switch to Portugal in the summer and have been impressed by his return of four goals from eight Primeira Liga games.

Boss Claude Puel was recently asked about the club’s supposed interest in the 24-year-old but refused to comment on the rumours.
Fresh speculation has now suggested the King Power Stadium outfit are not the only English club watching the left-winger with Southampton understood to have sent scouts to watch him in action.
The Saints are in need of attacking reinforcements having struggled in front of goal so far this season and will be looking to make additions when the transfer window opens.
It is understood Portimonense will be looking for a figure in the region of £20million and both clubs have the resources to match the Portuguese’s asking price.
