Fulham have gained promotion back to the Premier League after pipping Aston Villa 1-0 in the English Football League (EFL) promotion Championship play-off final on Saturday at Wembley Stadium.
Tom Cairney was the hero for Fulham following his 23rd minute goal off Ryan Sessegnon’s assist.
Chelsea legend John Terry featured for 90 minutes in Villa’s colours but could not inspire them to a EPL return.
Fulham however were reduced to 10 men after Denis Odoi was sent off on 70 minutes after receiving his second yellow card.
It is a return to the Premier League for Fulham after they were relegated to the Championship in the 2013/2014 season.
Fulham now join Wolverhampton Wanderers and Cardiff as the three clubs that gained promotion to the Premier League from the Championship for the 2018/2019 season.
For winning the EFL Championship Play-off, Fulham get £160 million which will rise to £280 million should they survive at least one season in the Premier League.
