–Kano Pillars striker hits Eagles camp Tuesday

Kano Pillars striker, Mohammed Gambo has said he’s prepared to work hard in order to be considered for the Super Eagles top striker’s role by Coach Daniel Amokachi ahead of Enyimba’s Mfom Udoh and Dolphin’s Emem Eduok.
Gambo has been off and on at the senior national team with injury blighting his national team career most of the time.
Gambo has not replicated his club career goal scoring for to the national team, opening his Super Eagles account in the 4-1 defeat of Ivory Coast in last year year’s CHAN final qualifiers first leg win.
With Amokachi now in transit managerial role of the Super Eagles listing the Kano Pillars ace amongst 35 players including Glo League record 23 goal scorers, Mfom Udoh and Emem Eduok for the international double header friendly in Dubai against Ivory Coast and Sudan, Gambo has revealed his determination to impress Amokachi and grab a permanent shirt in the team.
“I’m happy that I was considered for a return to the Super Eagles. It’s like one coming back to a familiar terrain so I will work hard to convince the coaches that I deserve a regular shirt in the team”, states the bulky forward.
Reminded about the inclusion of the likes of Mfom Udoh who is Nigeria’s domestic league highest goal-scorer with 23 goals and Emem Eduok who scored 20 goals in the last season in the list, Gambo said he is not new to the national team and could not fret over their presence.
“With hard work, I believe I will make it.”
The 26-year-old has scored 63 league goals for Kano Pillars in 165 appearances since joining the club from Buffaloes FC in 2006/2007 season.
