Striker Gambo Mohammed has boasted that leaders, Kano Pillars will remain top of the league table till the end of the season.
Pillars are back-to-back champions of the league and the Super Eagles fringe striker reckons they are primed to become the first club in recent era to win the top flight three times in a row.
“It’s a tough race that’s still a long way to go but we’re determined to remain on top till the end”, the stocky forward said.
“We know Nasarawa United and Enyimba among other clubs are breathing deep on our necks but we have a target which is to become the first club to win the league three consecutive times”, he emphasized.
Kano Pillars are enjoying massive moral and financial support by the Kano State government and Gambo insists it’s such support that is motivating the players.
“We are determined, we have a sound coaching crew led by Okey Emordi who has won the league and CAF Champions League with Enyimba.
“Besides, the state government has been supporting us to the extent we don’t lack anything so we cannot afford to deliver”.
