Ghana Beach Soccer Coach: Poor Officiating Cost Us Against Egypt

By James Agberebi at Eko Atlantic Beach Lagos:

Coach of Ghana's beach soccer team, Daniel Kotey Neequaye, has blamed poor officiating for their loss to Egypt in their match-day 2 clash on Wednesday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

With both teams looking to bounce back from their opening day defeats, Egypt had the upper hand, winning 5-4  in a very tough encounter of Group A.

Despite edging the early exchanges which led to two goals being scored by Ghana, the West Africans still went on to lose.

In his post-match analysis, Kotey called on the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF), to look into the issue of poor officiating.

Kotey told Completesportnigeria.com:"Let me congratulate the Egyptians for the win, but the officiating was very bad. We would have won the game but for poor officiating. There is nothing we can do, it is football, we will take it like that.

"I understand when someone make mistakes, but there are certain mistakes that ate not acceptable. It is very bad and I want CAF to talk to the referees," Kotey  advised.

He however stated that they will give their best when they face hosts Nigeria on Thursday night.

"Against  Nigeria, we will give it our all because every match is important. We may have lost. but that will not dampen our spirit, and hopefully we will win."
