Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi played for 63 minutes for Arsenal who came from three goals down to hold 10-man AFC Bournemouth 3-3 at the Vitality stadium on Tuesday.
The draw saw Arsenal maintain fourth spot with 41 points from 20 games.
First half goals from Charlie Daniels and Callum Wilson gave Bournemouth a two-goal lead into the interval. Ryan Fraser made it 3-0 and Eddie Howe’s men were 20 minutes away from a famous win before strikes from Alexis Sanchez Lucas Perez and Oliver Giroud earned the Gunners a share of the spoils.
The draw also prevented the Gunners from falling to a third consecutive away defeat with the reverse fixture between these two sides finished 3-1 to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in November.
The game was Iwobi’s 16th appearance in the English Premier League this season.
Arsenal were punished for their slow start to the match in the 17th minute as Charlie Daniels collected a pass from Stanislas inside the area before cutting inside Hector Bellerin and slotting his finish past Cech.
Bournemouth made it 2-0 when Granit Xhaka gave away the penalty barging into Ryan Fraser just inside the box. Wilson stepped up to take the spot kick and rolled his finish past Cech from 12 yards.
However, after a shambolic display in the opening 70 minutes Arsenal suddenly launched their remarkable comeback in the final 20, with Sanchez setting them on their way with a diving header from close range – Arsenal’s first shot on target of the night.
Simon Francis was red carded for a lunge and Arsenal too advantage to level at 3-3.
