A cross –section of artistes lined up to perform during the forth-coming Glo-CAF Awards gala have promised to make it a night of fun, glamour and endless entertainment.
Speaking on the gala night, Diamond from Tanzania said that he‘s most excited to perform at Glo-CAF Awards for the first time, adding that “Africa should expect to see the best performance of all time at Glo CAF Awards, if am not mistaken; because I have put all my life in Music. Besides, our singing and dance steps that we will bring on stage will be the talk of the whole continent.”
He described playing at the Awards night as “one of the best opportunities to start with in 2015. “It is a good platform for my career too, even though I am on tour now but my all focus is on Glo CAF Awards.”
On the part of Soweto Gospel Choir, “Africa will see pure energy during our performance at the Glo-CAF awards. They will hear beautiful harmonies and see exciting dancing. Soweto gospel choir are not just singers, we are performers, and our audience will feel totally uplifted as they experience the joy of music and our love for life.
We feel honoured and excited to be performing on this platform. The choirs are great football enthusiasts so an opportunity to be part of this prestigious awards evening, and to be guests in Nigeria, is something very special.”
Hakim, the folk singer from Egypt promised to present to Africa the Egyptian shaabi music which according to him, is a small branch of all the rich music of Africa. He stated that he is extremely honored to be invited to perform at Glo- Caf Awards adding that “ it’s really important that we build bridges within our African continent and know each other’s culture more”
P-Square will be performing back to back having held the crowd spell-bound at the last event in Lagos. They promised to storm the venue on the 8th with their crew and keep the crowd on their feet all through. “We will thrill the guests endlessly and make the night very memorable.”
King of Afro-jazz, Lagbaja, is set to entertain the guests with his scintillating tunes. The masked one whose music continues to fascinate with its unique focus on a core of African drums promises an engaging outing at the Glo-CAF awards. He said, “the Glo –CAF awards is a fusion of African football and music of which the Afro-beat is part of.
The guests are in for a full dose of Afro-jazz”.
Flavour, the Nabania crooner says he can’t wait to perform at the event. The celebrated Glo ambassador who has performed at several events will bring his musical skills to bear. “It is an honor to be selected as one of the performing artistes at the Glo-CAF Awards. Football and music are a good blend. Watch out for Flavour Nabania, its gonna be a night to remember”, he added.
Afro hip-hop sensation, Wande Coal is on the list of performing artistes at the event. He is excited to be one of the performing artistes. He said “it’s a great pleasure to be performing before great football talents. This is a unique event and I will be giving it my best shot. This is the event where African football meets African hip hop.
For Omawumi, she expects to thrill the guests with her sonorous voice which has won her several awards. ‘Oma wonder’ as she is fondly called will perform her favorite hits, ‘If you ask me’, ‘Belle’, ‘The African Way’, amongst others.
Other top acts performing at the continental event include Congo DRC’s multiple award-winning song writer, singer and guitarist, Fally Ipupa; and global Jazz icon, Hugh Masekela from South Africa. pan African group, Cirque
D’Afrique, Zeynab from Benin Republic and sensational singing group, Uhuru also from South Africa.
It promises to be an interesting and exciting night for guests at the Eko Hotels and Suites on 8th January, 2015.
It is an event where football meets music as all is set for a night of unlimited entertainment.
